Who we are
Neurodivergence Connect is an innovative online platform designed to bridge the gap between educators and parents of neurodivergent children. Through structured, teacher-led online meetups, educators will have the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into autism, ADHD, and related profiles such as Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). These sessions will serve as a unique form of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with the requirements of the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
While professional training provides theoretical understanding of neurodivergence, it often lacks the depth of practical, lived experience. Teachers frequently express a need for more nuanced, real-world strategies to support neurodivergent pupils-strategies that are responsive, human, and informed by everyday challenges and successes
What we offer
Neurodivergence Connect offers teacher-facilitated, parent-informed online sessions where educators can directly engage with parent "experts by experience." Parents of neurodivergent children will share personal insights, challenges, successful interventions, and resources that have
supported their children's development and learning.
These sessions:
- Empower teachers to ask targeted questions related to classroom behaviour, emotional regulation,
sensory needs, and more.
- Provide practical strategies and resource recommendations directly from the home front.
- Qualify as valid CPD hours under GTCS guidelines, fulfilling teachers' annual professional learning
requirements.
